Driving conversion rates, reducing basket abandonment and increasing brand loyalty with Metapack Options

London – 26 October, 2017 Metapack, the global leader in eCommerce delivery technology, has announced that MediaMarkt  Nederland, the holding company of Europe’s largest consumer electronics retailer,  has chosen to work with Metapack to provide an enhanced delivery service for its European customers. Through the implementation of Metapack Options, MediaMarkt will be able to offer its consumers more targeted and personalised delivery options at the point of purchase including guaranteed delivery dates that suit their needs, driving conversion rates, reducing basket abandonment and increasing brand loyalty.

“The eCommerce market for consumer electronics has never been more competitive,” explained Eric Schoenmakers, Director eCommerce at MediaMarkt. “As such, it’s imperative that we’re able to offer our users the best possible experience from the first touch on our website all the way through to delivery in the hands of our customers. The inclusion of Metapack into our eCommerce system will provide a higher level of convenience for our consumers, enabling them to determine when and where their parcel will be delivered – down to the exact day, location and time.”

The implementation of Metapack Options will enable MediaMarkt to quickly, and from a single point of integration, add delivery options – including home delivery, click & collect and pick-up & drop-off networks – on each product page and again at the checkout. Metapack Options provides access to over 350 carriers, and more than 4,000 services, allowing MediaMarkt to control and define its delivery options in line with business rules and operational requirements. With fully configurable and reliable delivery choices, MediaMarkt will be able to display available and accurate options to its customers before purchase, supported by a guaranteed delivery date.

Bruce Fair, Chief Revenue Officer at Metapack, explained: “Delivery is a critical part of a customer’s eCommerce experience and, when retailers don’t get it right, the impact can be profound. Indeed, our Metapack 2016 State of eCommerce Delivery Consumer Research Report revealed that an astounding 45% of consumers have abandoned a basket on a retailer’s eCommerce website because of unsatisfactory or unavailable delivery options. It’s clear that today’s consumers expect their products to be delivered when and where they want them. We’re extremely happy to be working with MediaMarkt to address this demand head-on, taking its delivery options to the next level and thereby helping the retailer to differentiate itself further in a highly demanding market.”
