Event Marketing Manager

MetaPack are looking for an experienced, dynamic, organised and creative Event Marketing Manager. Working within the marketing team, the role has specific responsibility to drive the marketing campaigns for MetaPack’s annual event, The Delivery Conference (TDC); and affiliated events, as well as other MetaPack owned events and attendance at 3rd party conferences and tradeshows, primarily in the UK.

Key Responsibilities – TDC


  • Create and implement marketing plan for TDC (and any affiliated events as are introduced), driving audience attendance, traffic to website and MetaPack’s social media channels
  • Write copy and content for marketing emails; website and landing page copy; social media channels; press releases; advertisements etc
  • Work with external agency to design event website – reflecting the theme of the event
  • Website management – updating (e.g. agenda/new speakers/sponsors); uploading (e.g. latest content) and general maintenance
  • Management of database
  • Develop and manage media partnerships – to leverage their extended reach
  • Manage relationship with PR agency, ensuring adequate press and media coverage for events
  • Promotional video production – working with external agency, create brief and manage production event videos (e.g. opening video; on-site video; live interviews)
  • Social Media – working in collaboration with marketing team, develop social media campaign plans – creating innovative content across different platforms and mediums


Key Responsibilities – Marketing Events


  • Manage MetaPack’s owned events and 3rd party conferences and tradeshows in the UK as well as Advisory Councils in Europe as outlined in the overall marketing plan
  • Plan the events from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives, and prepare the events campaign briefs
  • Work with marketing team and speakers to prepare content and presentations
  • Prepare the budgets and ensure adherence
  • Lead promotional activities for the events to drive attendance, in close partnership with the rest of the marketing team, including data segmentation, emails, website promotion, social media and internal communications
  • Write copy and content for marketing emails, website copy and any other copy required for external events
  • Analyse the events’ success and prepare reports
  • Ensure inquiries and leads from the events are entered into MetaPack’s CRM system for follow-up and tracking


Key Skills


  • Experience in managing and running marketing campaigns for large scale conferences as well as managing smaller events and attendance at 3rd party conferences and tradeshows
  • Strong experience in managing all aspects of the marketing mix to promote and ensure the success of events
  • Strong marketing copywriter with an excellent understanding of what makes interesting copy
  • Ability to create innovative ideas and initiatives – devising highly shareable social content and eye-catching advertising
  • Experienced at utilising multiple social media platforms to promote and garner interest in the events
  • Experience in day to day website management
  • Adept at building relationships with corporates, associations and industry partners
  • Being part of a marketing team with a strong focus on pipeline build and sales awareness
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Good understanding of HTML/working with a CMS (preferably WordPress)
  • Good working knowledge of CRM systems
  • Good working knowledge of Adobe Suite (Photoshop/Illustrator) software
  • Eye for design
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to brief, manage and work with external suppliers
