Online Shopaholic? This is what MetaPack means to you

metapack label

If you’re a keen internet shopper, you may have seen our logo on the address label of many of the parcels you've received. MetaPack’s software has been adopted by the majority of leading retail brands, hundreds of smaller online sellers and is used as a benchmark standard by the e-retail industry.

So what do we do? MetaPack works quietly in the background to manage the entire ‘home delivery’ process. This involves the website you shop at, the warehouse sending out your goods and the customer service looking after your order until you receive your goods.

  • When you place an order on the website, MetaPack identifies and displays the delivery services most suited to your needs (eg parcel size, location etc.)
  • In the warehouse, MetaPack finds the most reliable carrier for the job, prints out the label and sends your order details to the carrier automatically.
  • Once your goods have been despatched, MetaPack helps the retailer to keep both themselves informed as well as You - via email/SMS/web - of the whereabouts of your parcel or if there have been any delays.

MetaPack also organises returns for customers (you print the label at home and the carrier will come to your door and collect the parcel) and helps the retailer with countless other tasks such as with international orders or helping retailers allow you to collect from any location, including directly from the high street store.

So next time you shop online at John Lewis, M&S, Dixons, ASOS or many other of your favourite stores, you can be safe in the knowledge that “the right carrier service is used to deliver the right products to the right place and watched by the right people” to make sure you always get your purchases at the right time, every time!

Note: MetaPack is a software house and helps retailers do all of the above. What we don’t do is handle any physical orders, so we regret that we can’t help you with any personal enquires you might have regarding the whereabouts of your parcel (we call these WISMO calls which is a MetaPack acronym which stands for Where IS My Order?) You will need to contact the retailer direct with whom you placed your order (contact number is usually on the email they would have sent you when they despatched your goods, which also usually includes the Parcel Tracking number).

However, if you want to just track you parcel, MetaPack offers a FREE parcel look-up service called Parcel Track. Just enter your parcel tracking number, irrespective of the carrier it belongs to, and the system will cleverly direct you to and display the latest status from the specific carrier managing the shipment of your order. It’s especially useful when you’ve got lots of parcels and want to track from a central screen. Try it at www.parcel-track.com.
