Scotland and Northern Englad Delivery Exclusion Zones

Having spoken to many of the directors of the UK’s leading carriers, MetaPack believes that from Thursday 16th all retailers should consider advising their customers that “there is no pre-Christmas delivery guarantee for new orders to Scotland”.

This follows the initiative of a number of the UK’s leading retailers and is supported by
a) the general outcome of our conversations with the carriers and
b) the latest weather forecasts which suggest more snow is due in many areas of Scotland in the next three days.

We would take a more definitive view on this issue, but there has been some recent change in the Scottish weather forecast and some carriers are taking Scottish collections until Friday. However, no carrier will take volume from new customers, there is variability in declared service levels and we are aware that some carriers who are committing to Friday collection times are already excluding these same postcodes for existing customers.

	UK Mail have a backlog into Glasgow, Livingston, Perth and Aberdeen ( mainly the first 2 ). The rest of the country is reasonably clear. They do not have any exclusions to existing customers at the moment, although we may introduce some on Thursday.
