Hobbs positions themselves to meet increasing home delivery demands
Hobbs, the British womanswear company, recently went live on the home delivery management platform MetaPack to help meet the increasing delivery expectations of their customers as well as make use of the improving services offered by carriers. Hobbs are using MetaPack for both their eCommerce business deliveries and their delivery-to-store on their own fleet.
Using the platform as a ‘black box’ behind their Lava commerce system, Hobbs use scanners at the pack bench to finalise an order and automatically generate the call to MetaPack for a packing label. Initially continuing to send all parcels through their single carrier contract with Yodel, they are looking to enhance their delivery options including international services. Having MetaPack allows them to easily switch on further carriers and services as and when they are required.
Sue MacMillan, Head of Direct comments, "Hobbs is committed to offering our customers the highest levels of service both instore and online. With many carriers expanding or refining their offerings, and customers certainly raising their delivery expectations, MetaPack will enable us to take full advantage and launch new services smoothly and with pace. Following a straightforward and well-supported implementation we are already exploiting our new capabilities."
