DX leads the way in service levels and innovation
DX Group - the UK’s largest independent logistics network operator, which handles more than one million letters, packets and parcels every day – prides itself on its industry leading levels of service and innovation. The company, which specialises in the delivery of time sensitive, mission critical and high value items for public sector and business customers, is the only independent logistics network operator to have its own end-to-end postal operation.
It offers a variety of secure, yet cost-effective, services for handling goods such as mortgage deeds, jewellery, optical lenses and credit cards, and is the preferred provider for the UK Government and foreign embassies for passports and visas.
It recently scooped a Home Office award for innovative use of technology to bring measurable improvements to its passport delivery service. The accolade recognised DX’s innovative approach to improving the efficiency and security of passport delivery for the Identity and Passport Service, via the introduction of Computer Vehicle Routing Software and Handheld GPS Devices for the DX Secure service.
DX continues to introduce such innovations to its service range. It recently launched Managed Mail - a unique service that enables its Document Exchange customers to enjoy significant cost and service benefits on their second class postcoded mail.
The service offers a collection for postcoded mail after 5pm, processes it swiftly through the DX nationwide network, and passes it on to the Royal Mail for final mile delivery. It has a three working day delivery and offers savings of between 9 per cent and 19 per cent on 2nd class Royal Mail franking prices.
DX has also recently launched a unique postal service that will enable the UK’s 4,500 independent opticians and small optical chains to benefit from the DX Document Exchange service.
Known as DX Optical Exchange, the new service will help opticians work much faster and more effectively, since they will be able to post goods, such as frames for glazing, by 5pm for next day delivery to their suppliers.
In the pharmaceutical sector, DX has recently won a new contract to deliver pharmaceutical products across the UK for Waymade Healthcare plc. Waymade, which is a top 10 pharmaceutical wholesaler, is using the DX Tracked Courier Service with the pre 12-noon delivery option to make around 1,400 deliveries to high street pharmacists, doctors’ surgeries, hospitals and dentists each day.
DX is always striving to ensure that its customers are getting the maximum benefit from its services. To this end, it offers a free Address Book Cleansing Service for all customers who use its Document Exchange service.
The cleansing service, which checks the client’s database and appends all the latest Member addresses, is offered in partnership with address management specialist AFD Software. It was recently used by a longstanding Document Exchange customer, solicitor Goldsmith Williams, and is now enabling them to send up to £12k more mail via the Exchange service each year. Since the service is approximately 30 per cent cheaper than Royal Mail, this is bringing Goldsmith Williams significant savings.
