Doctor Car Parts, use a file import from ChannelAdvisor that has the consignment weights within it. They use Royal Mail and Interlink for international deliveries. Once they are able to use the grouping functionality on the import from ChannelAdvisor they hope to be able to offer their customers a series of service levels and upsell these at the front end. Dr Car Parts demonstrate the power of partner referral and the ability of the MetaPack Despatch Management system to allocate based upon weight and destination. The operational efficiencies are appreciated by the client at the front end.

house of fraser metapack customers

House of Fraser, when their online store was first launched the fulfilment element was outsourced to a 3pl. As the volumes grew, it became apparent that the contract with the 3pl was prohibitively expensive. They did however, have an operation for replenishment of retail stores which could be adapted to fulfil web orders as well, as is practised by Halfords and Laura Ashley, so House of Fraser decided to bring the e-commerce fulfilment operation in house, and use a single stock pot. In parallel, a review of carriers was undertaken. The project was delivered to tight deadlines, with House of Fraser importing the created file, choosing between 4 carriers in delivering to the UK and ROW. The MetaPack system is also used to send despatch confirmation e-mails to House of Fraser customers, and for the contact centre to track shipments and to arrange collections where required.
