Asos: International Delivery

asos interneational cn2

ASOS.COM was established in June 2000 and is the UK’s largest independent online fashion and beauty retailer with over 19,400 branded and own label products available, introducing approximately 1,150 new product lines weekly. ASOS.COM is continuing international growth, currently despatching to sixty eight countries, with plans to increase to over one hundred.

The Challenge

With exceptional international growth, ASOS.COM needed to manage increased volume and destination of deliveries whilst achieving the best price for carriers. The processes required manual intervention to regularly contact carriers and update prices within their fulfilment systems as well as producing paperwork for each order to meet necessary customs regulations.

The Solution

ASOS.COM worked with MetaPack to develop an automated and integrated solution with their order processing and fulfilment systems. With the integration of MetaPack, orders are now automatically allocated on weight, insurance value and services, removing the additional time and resource taken previously to contact the carrier for prices. All customs paperwork is automatically generated and produced through MetaPack at the same time as the despatch label is printed, eliminating manual intervention and reducing the risk for human error. ASOS.COM has full visibility of all their international despatches

"MetaPack continues to improve and enhance our delivery provision. Having seen the positive impact MetaPack has made with our domestic deliveries it was a natural progression to introduce the service for our international deliveries. Including all our deliveries through the one process has improved our productivity dramatically. We look forward to continuing to work with MetaPack as we expand around the world.
