Adobe Printing Solutions

Printer-friendly version

Labels from MetaPack's Delivery Manager are produced in PDF format. In almost all cases, these are then printed using Adobe's Acrobat Reader at a Windows pack-bench.

The self-printing labels will result in the user being presented with a pop-up request box asking them if they are sure they want to print. And they will get that every time. This is due to a security precaution implemented in Acrobat Reader.

To avoid the pop-up, you need to configure Adobe Acrobat with a secured script. DM will call the secure script instead. Therefore, you will also need to ensure that DM is in your trusted sites list too.

Install manually...

This javascript file contains the same kind of code as described in this article. That should be dropped into the folder named C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\Javascripts (or something very similar - it's Acrobat Reader's secured script folder).

Once that's done, you should configure Acrobat to treat dm.metapack.com as a trusted site (allowing it to call the script).

Or install using an MSI...

Alternatively, and if you're giong to be updating a number of pack-benches, it makes sense to use an MSI instead. The MSI attached at the bottom of this page will do all the configuration for you. If you're updating multple pack-benches, you might want to consider using group policy to push it out to all machines.
